Please agree with me that God send some whole folk that are willing and able to help with the vision. We're dealing with some folk who have been wounded in other ministries and really don't wanna do much. Don't want to commit. They're scared and come with a bunch of issues. I guess I should ask th...

Well, DH and I are embarking on a new chapter in our lives: We live in a non-urban setting (i.e. NO public transportation other than taxis!) with only one vehicle. I have never had my driver's license. I'm currently working on it - but quite frankly, this is the first time in my life I've ever rea...

I know someone has experienced this before. How do you handle jealousy among your leadership team. My husband and I are senior pastors, but we always hear about people complaining behind our backs that I am treated better than the asst. pastor's wife, or that our children are treated...

Deanna, I have been struggling with some people(women) in my church not necessarily liking me. I do not understand why. I am not bragging on my self, but I am not a bad person. I try to be at peace with all people. I try to be nice to all people. We have been pastoring f...

Guess what? We all have to die to our flesh. I examined myself and realized there's part of me that really needs to be dead but is up walking around and wreaking havoc. I need to kill this but my desire for vindication, justification and the absolute need to be right is makin...

Chair quest saga continues... I visit a wanted/free/buy local web site and scour it every now and then for things the church may need. I found a guy with 200 padded chairs...price negotiable. I was getting so excited. Then he said they were UT (University of Texas) ORANGE! Ick! I'm getting warm...

Well, I can scarcely believe it, but I'm here...it's official! I'm sitting here after-hours waiting for DH to pick me up (his work schedule is weird this week, and we're still working out carpool arrangements, lol!), looking around this gorgeous office that I call mine - still i...

Yesterday was our last Sunday service in the old building. Cleared out the office space and now we wait on the keys for our new bldg. It was emotional for me because we've been doing this for a whole year now. When folk didn't think we'd survive or that we were making a huge mistake...we thrived....

Ladies, I just need somewhere to dump my sorrows. I am having such a hard time as a pastor's wife. I am ready to leave. I have never had my mind so made up. I am searching for other churches to attend, because this life is very difficult for me. Why is it so difficult? I...

As you know, we're preparing to move into our own building and part of the process is setting up an account with an electricity provider. I found out that on our bldg, there is a thing called a DEMAND METER which if I didn't already have would have put the fear of God in me. Everybody in our churc...

Well, I go on staff at my church next week - on a part time basis for the month of August. Please keep me in your prayers - I am terrified, to tell you the truth! I guess you could put me in the "once bitten, twice shy" category, and even though I know this church is going to be completely different fro...

The check finally came today! We'll be in our building by Sept 1. Thanks be to God! Bldg. mgmt. said they may be done by 8/15 and he'll release keys early. We'll have our celebration and anniversary service in Sept. If we do get in early we fine tune some stuff before guests come. The delay wasn't such a b...

Does anyone have a study about "God's purpose for Women." I think sometimes I am missing my purpose and role in life. It would be beneficial if you all could include some scriptures that would help me identify who I really am. With so much feminism and women's lib, I forget sometime...
