Please agree with me that God send some whole folk that are willing and able to help with the vision.
We're dealing with some folk who have been wounded in other ministries and really don't wanna do much. Don't want to commit. They're scared and come with a bunch of issues. I guess I should ask that you keep these leaders in prayer that God would heal them.
They really haven't embraced us or the ministry. Any excuse is excuse enough not to come to church. But yet they all proclaim that God has sent them to our ministry. Sigh. I guess that's ok but we cannot and I do repeat cannot do this by ourselves.
There's work to be done. We need some whole folk to help receive those who are coming. We're preparing for a neighborhood outreach and evangelism event and I keep wondering who's going to help with all the new babies if leadership is wounded and wishy-washy.
Hubby and I can counsel, we pray, we deliver the Word. That's all we can do because the one thing we've learned in the past year is that you can't make anybody do anything.
I'd love for these folk to "step up to the plate" but if not, we need committed folk who love God and will embrace the vision for this house and help us run with it.
I understand just what you mean. We have had people leave to go somewhere where they "didn't have to do anything" or "didn't have to commit" (maybe a larger place that doesn't give a strong call that every member must be a minister...) Some people just want to go someplace where they can hide and not have to serve. It's sad.
I'll be in prayer for you that the Lord of the harvest would send workers into your field. Keep your chin up. Help is on the way.
I will pray, too, b/c good leaders are hard to come by. When we founded our ministry, we had to do everything. Until, we found a handful---just a small number who had the vision, and who were willing to be trained. It has taken years, but now we do not have to do as much, b/c they now understand how to work for the Kingdom. People, a lot of times, do not understand that they are to be equipped for the work of the ministry. Many prefer to sit idle and let others do the work. And in my experience, I have found that they came from places where they rarely went to church, and many of our members are unchurched, so they had no clue. So, honey, I do understand where you are coming from, and this can be frustrating. So I will pray that God send some faithful, capable, people, who have the mind to work in the Kingdom. Or at least, those who are willing to sit still long enough to be trained to lead.
I hope this helps, just to know that we understand and care about you.
I've been fasting and praying for leadership and for healing and a return to sanctification of His people. I guess this is why God is showing me me (see post above).
We are dealing with some very wounded leaders. For some the pain is very fresh, for others it's been years.
I believe this could be part of the reason we had the delay. There's healing that needs to take place and prayers of repentance to be offered.
You know, our God works wonders. He is restoring and delivering. One of the leaders in our church just declared themselves delivered from past church hurt and wants to move forward.
God is answering prayer!
I spoke with another person in leadership and they told me that God had them praying and fasting for the ministry completely unknown to us. I'm seeing God answer prayer right in front of my eyes.
