We have had people join our ministry and they come with their little ones! And even though we're few...I SEE THE VALUE AND NEED for CPs! Parents can't really participate in the worship and are constantly distracted by their precious little people. LOL! I remember when the kids were young -- there was no children's church. Just me hanging out in the back of the sanctuary trying to keep a colicky baby quiet! And missing everything!
Can't wait till we grow some more so we can make that happen!
Puppetmaster, never doubt your worth. Obviously your worth as a woman, as a person...but also your worth as a minister.
As for me, I'd be pulling my hair out without our CP's. Ours are Pastor Trinity Mackley and his wife Misty. They are worth their weight in platinum, not just gold. My Lord, what we would do without them, I do not know.
Send Judah, I'm praying that this happens for you SOON.
Just remember (and this is the CP in me coming out!)...children's ministry does not exist just so that the parents can have "real church." Children's ministry IS real church!!!!!! My leaders and I are ministered to every Sunday while we're leading worship...preaching...talking to kids, etc.
I know I recommend this book a lot - but if you haven't read George Barna's Transforming Children Into Spiritual Champions, it is definitely a worthwhile read!!
And see my thinking is that children's church shouldn't be anything less than church. Their spirits need to be ministered too. They need to be instructed in the things of God in a way that they understand.
God bless all the CPs that pour into our children. What an awesome task!
