I got the official call from my soon to be new SP yesterday...so now I will officially say that I will be the children's pastor at Trinity Christian Church in Zion, IL!
I don't actually start until September - their current CP is there until then. But DH and I are moving there June 2 because at this present moment, there are TONS of open jobs in the area that he qualifies for, and he wants to be available for interviews, etc.
Don't have a lot of time right now - it's Sunday morning and I still need to hop in the shower, throw some lunch in the slowcooker, and get ready for church...
I am so incredibly proud of you! Way to go. I know you are so excited and we are happy for you. Keep us posted on the transition and how things go. You deserve this job, and all the happiness that comes with it. It's been a long time coming.
Wow! Congrats all around! Hope all goes well for both of you...Love, Lori

Ugh. I'm taking a break from packing right now - that's how I'm spending my Memorial Day weekend!!
My dog is wandering around the house, not quite figuring out what we're doing to "her" house.
We're down to the last of the perishables in our fridge...trying to use them all up before we go.
There is definitely a "moving vibe" in our house. Packing is probably my least favorite "necessary" activity - other than doing dishes, lol! But there is definitely quite a bit of excitement mixed in with the tedious part.
Life is looking up for us - thanks again for all your prayers. Keep them coming - the house still needs to sell (We're renting our new place, so we won't have to deal with owning two homes, thank goodness - but things are still going to be tight for awhile...)!
Just a thought - have you prayed about getting a renter and maybe keeping it as an investment? I know this would only work if you could keep a renter in there, due to finances, but it could really be a great retirement benefit for you. Just a thought.
That would have been great...esp. since we're about 5 minutes from both NCU and the U of M - it would have been snatched right up for rental by college students!
Unfortunately, because of all of our financial setbacks for the past two years, we are now in the "redemption period," post-sheriff's auction. In Minnesota, you have 6 months after the sheriff's auction to buy your house back before they foreclose. So...we're sort of racing against time to get the house sold so that we can still make some $$ (our house is worth more than we owe on it - which is why we didn't qualify for the mortgage company's program that would have stopped that procedure!). Otherwise, come December, it's just gone, and we chalk it up as a loss.
The bright side to this is that we won't have house payments to be making once we move, lol! Some friends of ours are seriously thinking about buying the house, fixing it up, and flipping it or renting it out - they had been talking about doing that before they knew ours was for sale (we hadn't talked to them in awhile!), and they're now working on crunching their numbers to see if it will work - if it works for them financially, it will probably happen...
After all this, I'm really looking forward to renting for awhile .
