The good news: the church I interviewed at wants me back for a second interview...to meet with their deacon board (which basically means they've decided to go ahead with the process and most likely bring us on!)!
The bad news: the SP and I keep missing each other, so we have been unable to nail down a date. Phone tag. Ain't it fun?
In other news...DH and I decided to lower the price of our house - just low enough to snag ourselves a buyer, but still high enough so that we'll make some $$ off the deal!
I'm having a highly unmotivated evening...just sat around reading and watching "America's Next Top Model." Yes, it's nerds like me who keep reality t.v. in business!!
Tomorrow...I get my hair cut, pick up my allergy pills, clean the house, and go through our stack of bills (with DH!) and we organize our finances.
Well...I go back May 6th. They want us to meet with their deacon board and conduct kids' church for the two Sunday services.
Apparently, they're also interviewing someone else, so this process has the potential to drag on...and on...and on.
I have a call in to the SP and plan to ask him for some sort of a timeline - it's been almost a month since our first interview...and if they've got someone else they're interviewing, is it going to take another month before they get brought in for a second interview...and then how long until they choose between the two of us?!?!?
Is this normal? Does it usually take this long for all of you SP's and wives of SP's to hire staff? Should I be throwing in the towel at this point? This guy doesn't seem flaky, and everyone I've talked to who knows him seems to speak well of him.
I'm starting to wonder if God really wants me to be a children's pastor after all...
