Well, life is starting to look up just a little bit.
First of all, DH got a job!! This was a huge answer to prayer because he needed to bring in an income somehow with a company that:
a. was close to home, since he still can't drive really long distances on a regular basis (due to his surgery); and
b. had a manager that would understand if he ends up needing time off to go candidate with me, or needs to be done in anywhere from 1-6 months...depending on how things go!
This is a 32 hr/week position (double what he was able to work at the church!), working for a friend of ours who knows all the details of what's going on and completely understands our situation. He'll be working for a limo company right down the street from our house taking reservations.
So this lifts the financial burden a little bit for us...
I'm in conversations with two churches right now (Deanna, I e-mailed you about one of them!!)...haven't been called for an interview yet, but the SP at the church I'm most interested in really liked the info that I sent him - he just is leaving for 2-3 weeks for vacation/pastors' meetings and won't be able to set anything up for awhile. So pray that he decides to interview me.
I FINALLY heard back from the church I interviewed at in November - after calling them again, they finally called back and said that they're still looking for someone who has experience working in a church of 1,000 people or more. And they don't want someone fresh out of college. In other words, they want to snag some megachurch's children's pastor, or hope that God drops one from the sky.
That's about it for now...just hanging out, waiting for my job at my current church to end, enjoying life, going through my house throwing JUNK away, etc...
Hope you are all doing well and that your ministries are alive and kickin'!!
