Prayer Request

Huge prayer request:

My husband just fell today and snapped a tendon in his leg.  He is on his way into surgery even as we speak.  They're saying he'll be out of the hospital by Christmas, but talking at least 3 months of intense physical therapy.

A couple of clinchers: I don't currently have a driver's license.  Long story short, I just never got around to getting it.  The irony is, I just renewed my learner's permit two weeks ago.  I was going to start practicing again (I know how to drive, but I'm REALLY rusty!!) after the New Year.  I can bus to and from work; that's not a problem.  However, getting to church (1/2 hour drive) could be problematic.  Plus he won't be able to drive out there 3x a week to work, so his PT job is out.  Not to mention, we won't be able to travel to Nebraska to see my mom after Christmas like we'd planned.

We need prayer for speedy recovery and miraculous provi$ion.  Plus I'm a little bummed about Christmas.  We are going to offer to use the money that we'd have paid for gas to get there and back to fill my mom's tank so she can come see us...if she can get away.  Otherwise, we'll at least be able to hitch a ride with my brother and sister-in-law for New Years' weekend when they go.  I just got off the phone with my SIL, in fact, and she said they'd definitely work something out...

I'm feeling a little emotional right now.  Just keep me and my DH in your prayers if you think about it this week (and over the holiday!)...

Yes Puppetmaster, we will keep you and your husband in prayer.  Keep us posted as to what is happening and how things turn out.

Love you,

Deanna

I trust that the Lord supplied your needs, since that is what He does best, but know that I am still praying for your household...   Be blessed.

Well, my husband has been officially "gimpy" for one week now!

We had some super sweet people in our church help us out financially...my favorite worker (okay, one of two regulars other than college students!) gave us a check, and a relatively new family gave us a gift card to the grocery store.  HUGE blessings for us!

Still taking it one step at a time as far as getting around.  The bad news is, the doctor said that he absolutely can't travel to Nebraska - it's a 6-hour drive from where we are, and he said that's too long for him to keep his leg in one position...too big a risk for blood clots.  He is practically shoving me out the door, saying that I need to go see my mom and do our Christmas celebration.  His mom and nephew have offered to come down so that someone's here to take care of the dog and be here in case he needs someone.  I would feel better in that case, but I'm still holding out to make sure he's getting around pretty well and not in major pain by that point.

He's pretty much done with his job at the church.  By the time he's able to drive out there, he'll have two weeks left before our SP is officially done.  Oh...did I mention he's found a new position? If I haven't, he has!  DH and I, along with SP and his wife, have agreed that there is no way we can stay there without his covering, even if we haven't found another church.

Am I terrified?  Yes.  About a lot of things - our finances, finding a new church, DH finding a new job, getting behind while he can't work.  But I'm trying not to dwell on them.  I'm sort of in a "funk" today about everything...so it's hard for me to be positive.

But so far, God has been coming through for us, so I see no reason why He won't continue to do so...
