In twelve minutes...

...I leave for my interview.  This is for the FULL TIME position, at the church that pretty much every associate/youth/children's/music/whatever else pastor in our district would sell a limb to work in!

If any of you read this over the next hour or so, please say a prayer for me!  My interview is at 5:00 pm, Central Standard Time.  I am trying to be confident - I even found THE perfect power suit at a thrift store over the weekend, which I am wearing now (Sorry...every once in awhile my girly side surfaces ).

I really feel like God is putting all the puzzle pieces into place for our entire pastoral staff, the church I'm leaving behind, and my husband and me personally.  That is, I think He is.  More details on that later...

Pray for me!  I REALLY want this to work out.  I know it's not what I want, but what God wants, but I really want God to want this, too .

Puppetmaster:  I wanted you to know that you were in my prayers earlier today & that I'm praying for you now.  Looking forward to hearing how things went.

Okay, so I'm back, finally out of my suit and high heeled boots and in my comfy flannel pants and sweatshirt, waiting for the pizza that DH and I ordered...

It went well.  I think.  You could fit my entire current church building into the lobby of the church I interviewed in.  They run about 300 kids on a Sunday morning, and 200 on a Wednesday night.  That's going to be the main issue, I think.  The fact that I'm jumping from a church of 60 people TOTAL to a church with 300 kids.  They asked me if I thought I was up to the task, and I said yes, I think I am.

I was in there for an hour and a half, and this was just the preliminary interview, where I talked to the SP and the ministry administrator.  The next step (if I'm called back!) will be to be interviewed by the entire staff, because they feel it's important for the staff to be able to work together as a team.

They said they liked what I had to say - I'm just hoping that my coming from a tiny church isn't going to be a big issue.  They told me the amount of $$ I'd get to work with as my annual ministry budget, and WOW!!  Let's just say that I felt like a hick country kid in the big city (They volunteered that info when they asked me how I have handled a budget in the past).  They were also impressed with my administrative background, because being a CP in a church that large is highly administrative.

DH wasn't in on the actual interview, but they talked to him before and after, and he really liked them - and vice versa, I think.  As soon as he saw DH (he's pretty recognizable!), he realized that he'd briefly met us before.  We figured out that he was the presbyter who had interviewed our YP and her husband when she was licensed, and that she had introduced us at District Council once.

I really, really, really want to work there.  The church even has a coffee shop in their lobby.  This church is SO where this caffeine-addicted, floofy coffee drink-loving children's pastor is meant to be, lol!  Besides that, the SP is so down-to-earth, and the church is actually one where I could invite my unsaved friends and family members...besides one in which I feel like I could really fit in myself.

I need to stop stressing.  I asked God for the job, I interviewed, and now I need to sit back and just let things happen.  Or not happen.  I'll keep you all posted!
