Deanna,

I just have to say... you look like a new woman!  You look great girl!  Florida must agree with you. It is encouraging to hear about how you have taken control of your health and created a healthier lifestyle.

Blessings!

Thank you!  Your compliment means a lot and I am grateful you took the time to encourage me.  You are right, Florida does agree with me.  And I must be honest with you, many things factor in.  First, I am happy.  Very happy at my church here.  Waking up every day and being so excited about my life and my church - it's a marvelous gift.

Second I have been able to improve myself in many areas through opportunities afforded to me here, like...weight watchers, working out at the gym, etc.  The past year I really have had an "Extreme Makeover" - slow yet steady.  And even the people who see me every week say they hardly recognize me sometimes!    It's awesome.  It has not come without hard work.  A few pw friends who I'm friends with who still need to lose some weight say, "Oh, I wish it would happen for me" and I remind them, God never just dropped this on me and gave me victory -- victory has been step by step, day by day, decision by decision.  And it has not been easy to stay disciplined.  But through His grace, I have.

All that to say, the Lord is good, and I'm a firm believer that ANYONE can still make changes in their life and go to the next level...if you're still alive and breathing - you are a candidate for change!!!  I have ministered to ladies who tell me they are too old, it's too late...etc.  I don't agree.  If we're alive, we're all supposed to be growing and changing!!!  I am very grateful that He has helped me to change thus far, but I'm not done.  (In fact, I'm trying to lose 7 more pounds by Dec. 31st.)

Love you all,

Deanna

A fellow WWer! Okay I confess, I went way off points today. Back on the band wagon! Weigh-in is Tuesday! I lost 60lbs when I first did WW and gained the majority of it back. Did a lot of false starts after that but this time is the last time. God's backing me and telling me I can so do this!

Looking forward to emerging in the spring as a beautiful butterfly!

See, WW didn't work out for me.  Sitting in a room with a bunch of other people talking about food for an hour (over my lunch period, no less!) just made me hungrier.  I actually GAINED weight, lol!

Now I've dropped 20 pounds and a size and a half just learning to eat reasonably and work out.  I started losing when I stopped trying!  When my financial situation improves, I'm going back to the gym so I can really continue the downward spiral...

You've got to do what works for you!  As long as it's healthy and it works for you that's all that matters.

I've been at a standstill for a few months now - not gaining anymore but not losing either.  A real plateau.  I have 7 more pounds to lose to be a lifetime member.  I really need to do it by year's end.  I'm tired of paying!

I have the best WW teacher in the world.  I'm not just saying that because she's mine, but she's recognized by a lot of people as being the best.  It's amazing how many people under her leadership have done so well.  I call her a WW preacher.  I don't think she's a believer, however what I mean by that is, she is so motivational and inspirational and a great speaker.  She lost 50 pounds back in 95' and has kept it off and looks fantastic.  She still struggles just as most of us do...but she's still out there doing it.  I have not missed a weekly meeting for a year.  The meetings really are the magic, as they say.

But you have to do whatever works for you and what's healthy and that is all that matters.

Keep going and don't give up!

Ooh...that's got to be the most frustrating!  7 pounds away from Lifetime!!  A co-worker of mine was 3-4 pounds away from it for months, and no one could believe she was still going to WW and paying for it, because she didn't look like she needed it.

But Spirit-Led Woman is right - your pictures are definitely classic "before and after" photos...you're looking great!!
