Well, we successfully pulled off our community Halloween outreach. About 90% of it was pulled out of thin air by my DH! Several of the people who said they were going to bring games didn't show, and he went out about 20 minutes before he had to go to the site and set up and picked up a bunch more games. We also grabbed a bunch of frozen hot dogs from the church freezer (leftover from our last kids' event!) and brought those - along with leftover chips, courtesy of the youth overnighter.
We had between 75 and 100 people come through, which isn't bad, considering there were only three tiny churches participating. DH and I did a gospel illusion presentation for them.
I'm happy it's over, and a little sad, too - the Catholic priest who worked with us (one of the nicest, sweetest men I've ever met!) said he was looking forward to many more years working together on this. But it's not going to happen...
I went dressed as Snow White and YP was the evil queen (she walked around with an apple in her hand, and we posed for a bunch of pictures with her handing it to me!). DH went as a "chip monk." He wore a monk's robe with little bags of chips clothespinned to it. If anyone could guess what his costume was, they got to pick one of the bags of chips off his costume.
I'm glad it's over, and I'm sure I'm going to hear CA's opinion on something or other that was wrong with it. *rolls eyes* Too tired to care right now...I remembered this year to take tomorrow off so I can sleep in and then hit the "after-Halloween sales" - an absolute MUST for someone who runs a children's ministry and a theatre company!!
