Hey Pastoring partners

Hi pastoring partners,

I just needed a little advice.  I have been off my job caring for my small children for 2 years.  My DH and I decided that our growing church and his new business can not support our family's need for health insurance and the basic things in life.  So, I am having to return to work full-time again(I stayed home before, but started having financial problems).

Here is my problem:

I get angry with God and my husband b/c this has always been a desire of mine since I was a little...to have children and be a homemaker.  To me this is not an ungodly desire.  WHY IS IT SO HARD TO POSSESS????  I know I may sound crazy to you, b/c a lot of women in this society value their careers and college degrees.  However,  I am not in this group.  Ladies, can someone help me see this a little better, it is hard for me.  I am very angry right now.  THANKS!!!

Hey first lady,

I would have to know more about your situation.  Perhaps you have shared it in past posts, and I'm just having a brain warp.  Sorry!  I am so "fried" (in a good way) from having been away the last 2 weekends on ministry.  I'm just getting back from Orlando...

Questions would be...how large is your church and are they paying your dh at all?  What is his new business?  Does it truly have promise or is it just something he is tinkering with at this point?  Do you believe it truly has potential in other words?  The reason I ask -- perhaps if dh is in unity with you about you staying home, he could get another job that is steady and pays more instead of you working outside the home?  Perhaps the time for a fledgling business on the side is not now but when the kids are older?  My opinion - he would make more money with something already established that pays steady, in addition to his church income - then you could stay home.  This would be until the church grows to pay him FT, and then by the time your kids are in school, you could work outside the home as well at least til' they come home from school, if you need to?

Just a few thoughts but I am not sure as to the particulars of your situation and if this is feasible for you.

I believe God speaks to all of us individually about this part of our lives...if he has spoken to you in this manner about staying home then I believe there has to be a solution to fulfill it.

Love ya,

Deanna
