I just have to share how amazed I am. You all have been there with me during the many ups & downs (& downs & downs) over the last few years, and I thank you so much. So I must share this huge UP!!
As you know, God has just moved us to our new church at the beginning of February. My dh & I are beginning to live out the vision that God has placed in our hearts.
I guess it first started when we knew we were leaving our last church. Dh & I were dreaming & he asked me where I'd want to go. For some reason, I said "to a bigger place, somewhere near the beach." This is really weird for me, b/c I am a country girl & I'm not much of a beach lover. But that is exactly where God has placed us, a few miles from the beach in a bigger city.
We are in a church where I can work along side my husband, as we have wanted. We even preached a sermon together a couple of weeks ago. And I can't tell you how many people came up to me & told me how much they appreciated us doing that.
We had our first children's ministry meeting a week or so ago. I asked the ladies there to share their heart's desire with the group. One lady shared her desire to really connect with the mothers of the children, something I felt God placing on my heart 2 churches ago (and put down by both churches).
And my dh has had a vision for years of a church where we (someone in the church) wrote some our own praise & worship music. A couple of weeks ago, our guitar player led an amazing song that he wrote. And then just last night, we had a young lady sing a song that she had written - unbelievable.
Dh & I are just literally amazed. We are seeing God bringing the vision He gave us to life. Amazing. I thought that we would have to move out of our district for this to happen, but we didn't have to move that far from home (family).
We are still in need of prayer. I still don't have a job, but I know God is going to provide. Our church has been hurt terribly, but we are healing & going forward.
Thank you so much for your prayers & encouragement over these last years. I could not have made it without them.
So wonderful to hear the awesomeness (is that really a word) :) of how God is moving in your lives and in your church. We will continue to lift you up and will stand believing with you that God will continue to heal your church body and through that healing you will begin to see the influx of families and souls for Christ. God does have a job for you and I will pray that HE places it in your lap!
