Hi, All: I am so nervous!!! I love living in Florida. Born & raised here. But I hate hurricanes. I know that God is in control of the weather & that weather forecasters are just making predictions, but the latest on hurricane Dennis is that it could very well hit us directly. I am so nervous. I hate storms & have the tendency to go extreme. Dh is the opposite & takes things so lightly. So, as we prepare for this storm, we are getting in fights. He gets mad at me for being so obsessive (I want to pack in case we lose everything.) I get upset w/ him for his lack of concern. So, please pray for us, for God's hand of protection on us. And pray that he will see things my way (ha!ha!). I don't know what our future holds, but I know who holds the future. If we evacuate, we'll probably leave out early Saturday morning. I hope to check in tomorrow, & after that ?????
That sounds just like my dh and me. I would probably pack anyway. Better safe than sorry. ANd we will be praying fo ryour protection and wisdom to know what to do and when to do it. All will be well with you.
i can understand how you must feel, but God will take care of you and your family. We're supposed to be coming to Florida for our vacation in August, so I hope there is nothing going on at that time or my youngest daughter will freak...if you just mention the word hurricane or tornado, she gets really uncomfortable and we've never experienced anything like that where we live.
I'm up in the panhandle in Jackson County. Jackson is the county that is on the FL, GA, & Alabama line. We're about 2 hours from Pensacola & an hour from Tallahassee. We're not right on the coast (about an hour away), but if this thing hits where it says, it doesn't matter. We just won't get the storm surge. Right now, they are saying that it is going to hit near Pensacola, where Ivan hit last year. Ivan destroyed some major buildings 'round here. We'll be on the right side of the storm, which is always the worst. But Dennis could also hit closer. We just have to "wait & see" and pray. We have Friday Fun Day today. We plan to cut it short. Then I'll be back to pack up. Dh & discussed what to pack last night, so hopefully we won't be going at it too much today. Baby's been coughing, so I might have to squeeze in a trip to the doctor's office today as well.
We are praying for your safety. I pray that if the storm hists land that the damage will be minimal and the loss of life will be none. In Jesus name. Amen.
I think it's going to completely miss FL -- I think all of us will just get a tropical storm. Prepare for a lot of rain these next few days and for those who are "rain babies" to stay home from church Sunday, but other than that, I think we're alright.
BTW, I'm back home! Just got home tonight...checking mail and dozing off in a few...
