Jesus, give us clear minds, thick skin, and stability to do what You have called us to do! There are going to be "skunks" in every church, along with the sheep who need our leadership...they will 'spray' us with their ugly spirits, and nitpick and try to bring us down. But GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN US THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD! Jesus, you have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a SOUND MIND! You have big plans for all of us and our ministries, and we pray again that those who oppose Your vision and would speak against the man of God that you have placed in authority would be changed by Your spirit or removed.
We rebuke the devil and his games. We have had ENOUGH, and in Jesus' name, satan, we command you to get out of our lives - out of our homes, our marriages, our churches, and our ministries!!
We love you Jesus, and repent of any doubt, any fear, any negativity that we have given in to, because we know that they are not of You. We press on, in Your name!!
Lyrics to the chorus of a great song below (I have the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir's cover of it on CD.)...
Thank you puppetmaster for that. you know, while I was praying and reading my bible this week, i asked God to show me something that would help me get through the rest of this week given the circumstances surrounding the lady i told you about before. - and he gave me Acts 20:28-30...which basically says "even from among your own selves men [women] will come to the front who by saying perverse things will endeavor to draw away disciples after them. (AMP)
and i thought wow, God, this is so much like it is right now at our church...i am so thankful for His Word...I truly need Him in my life.
i truly love our church..., we have great people who are in love with Jesus, supportive of the vision, and ready, willing, and able to work with the leadership...but i guess there's always at least one, who will stir up the waters and try to cause strife.
In spite of it all, i've learned to trust in Jesus, i've learned to trust in God.
Yes, you are right, revswife, there will always be somebody. I learned that years ago and decided, I might as well be happy and I might as well enjoy the ministry! Why let one or two joy-robbers stop it? Let them go rob their own joy, they aren't going to rob mine!
Thanks for that prayer, Puppetmaster...very powerful. That's one of my favorite songs too, BTW.
