Routines

Just kind of wondering if you ladies have any routines that help you get your studying done, church paper work done, ect... that a new pw should know and are there any key software or ways to file or store things such as visitors cards or whatever that I should know? I have not much of a clue where to start. I wish I had some kind of good software to start keeping phone numbers and other info in. ANy pointers?

We use Membership Plus for all kinds of records.  This is mainly used to keep books and offering stuff - like track of offering donations.  It automatically makes a year end statement thing for church members for taxable donations too.  Another thing we do for offerings is have two people count - for accountability.  But the PW probably isn't the best choice - unless that is all you have at the moment.  In the beginning, Dh and I both had to count, until we found another reliable person.

That's all I remember off the top of my head.  HOpe that helps.

We use PowerChurch Plus.  It takes a little getting used to.  It keeps us w/ membership, birthdates, sermon notes, pluse church bookkeeping.  It's not the easiest program I've used, but once you figure it out, you can do it.

For our office, we use Power Church Plus as well.  I concur, it's not the easiest when you begin but once you get used to it it's great.  It is used by everyone...our financial admin., our assistant, my dh, myself...anything administrative goes on that program.  If you get it you will need a few days training on it.   Check into it and see what you think about it.

As far as me personally, I have an "initiatives" list that I live by each week...I make it up for me personally on Thursdays for the coming week, Mon-Sat.  These are my personal objectives to do for the week.  I live by this list and make sure it's done in 7 days.  I have my asst., Lindsay, do the same thing.  I'm a big believer in list making - not just making it, but following through in doing it.

If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every time!

Love you,

me
