As of this past Tuesday, April 19, I am now a card-carrying licensed pastor in the Assemblies of God!!  I am so dead-tired today (My family was here until 2:00 yesterday afternoon, after which I headed up to the church to do Wednesday night stuff...Now, I'm back at my FT day job.  As my mom said, "You only get a moment of glory, and then it's back to work!")...

A couple of major praise reports:

1. The would-be board member who would have been a detriment to our church board DECLINED his nomination!  My DH, who works as church office administrator, had to call him and confirm, and they spent 20 minutes on the phone...this guy (who's in his late 70s) actually told my DH that he realizes that he just doesn't understand the younger generation and that if he really wants the church to grow (which he does!) he needs to pass the mantle to someone else.  He said that he would like to talk to my husband and get to understand our generation better, but he feels that his time in leadership of the church is done.  He also said that he and his wife think that me, my DH, our YP and her husband are the cream of the crop and that our church couldn't have better people running the children's and youth programs.  WOW!  What an encouragement from someone that I thought was scheming to get rid of us.  At least that's what the "pain in the you-know-what" board member would have us believe...It was also a real boost to our SP, who has been seriously stressing about the upcoming board vote!

2. We had 21 KIDS (grades 6 and down) at church last night!  And most of them were in the younger classes!!!  The Alpha Course is really exploding, which is bringing in the kids of the people attending that class...if you've ever done the Alpha course, you know that the first time around doesn't usually bring in a bunch of new people/families - it's usually the church people "investigating" to see if it's something they should invite their unsaved friends to.  This is an absolute miracle, an answer to prayer, and the beginning to the fulfillment of a prophetic dream I had in January...In this dream, I was standing in front teaching children's church to two kids.  I turned my head and blinked, and two more appeared.  I did it again, and they kept appearing until all the seats were filled + more!
