Two weeks ago I went to a sectional WM meeting. While I was there I met a lady from another church who told me her church and another AG church were voting on a merger and if it was approved an AG owned building will be empty. When I left the meeting I called my husband and we went and looked at the building. It is 4 miles from where we are meeting now. It is a small, older church (the sanctuary seats 70) but it is workable to use while we build our core group. We called our sectional missions director and found out the building is owned by the district and they already decided to let us use it and only pay utilities and insurance. The merger was approved Sunday night and the pastor is giving my husband the keys today! They are supposed to have their stuff out by next week.
We are so excited. It is hard to only be able to meet 1x a week and carry all of our stuff back and forth. We are excited about the outreaches we can do in the neighborhood. We have not told our church people yet. We were waiting to see if the merge would go through. We are praying that they will be excited and receptive to a move so soon after we started services. We will be moving our services there the 1st week of may because there is alot we would like to do to the church building before then.
That is so AWESOME!!! God never ceases to amaze me how He works things out in unexpected ways. I think that your congregation will be excited as well. This is a great oppurtunity to be able to do more kingdom building. Praise God!
Hey! Way to go you guys!! Congrats all around!!! Love, LW
