Finances starting to look up...

My DH has officially been offered the position of Church Administrator (part time).  He will be responsible for laying out the church bulletin, building and maintaining a web site, and a bunch of other "office manager" type stuff.

He's also just been offered a pretty regular gig doing illusion for the Cub Scouts' overnighters at the Children's Museum (they do them at least two Friday nights a month!) at $100 a pop!

Between those jobs and the workshops he's been doing with after-school programs, it looks like we're going to make it.  Since his unemployment runs out THIS MONTH, this is a good thing...I guess it's really true that God is never early and never late .

Now we can start praying and trusting God for me to be able to cut down my non-ministry hours (right now I work full time!) so I can devote more time to my calling...

Praise God!  This is just a first step.  I am so glad about the breakthrough with this job for dh.  I will be praying that your church grows soon to the point where you can earn more income there.  God has you in mind...He hasn't forgotten you!

Love you,

d

I will never get the concept of why he is always so last minute with us, but maybe it's because he wants to be the hero. I love to pray to him, then watch him work!!!! Can I get a big AMEN?!!!

Last year, I went to the local store, I was almost broke, we had nothing in the fridge, and it was four days before payday. I prayed before going into the store. I went in to see things i needed on sale, I found coupons just laying around, and marked down dented soups, and things. I praised him for it all, and payed at checkout. I prayed again though because even though my money stretched to buy enough meals, we did not have enough money for gas for the next few days, and DH had to work. I asked God for at least 20 more dollars to put into the tank as he had to go to work. I walked to my car and under the front wheel of the car was a brand new $20.00 bill!!! ( the lot was almost empty, nobody was nearby)I was off to the gas station and we made it !!!!! He loves to rescue us ladies, at the last minute!!! lw

I like that, LW...it's amazing how He proves Himself as the hero over and over again although He doesn't even have to!

God is so good.  What He provides for me each and every day is nothing short of amazing.

Good morning - love you all and hope you have a fantastic day!

I believe God is very chivalrous. He likes to ride in on the white horse. Several years ago my dh and I were in a really big financial mess and our funds for the month were low . He was still teaching and had just surrendered to the ministry. We were 1 day away from pay day and there was nothing in the house but peanut butter and half a loaf of bread. I was getting frantic because my 3 year old was getting tired of peanut butter. I started praying . "God please just help me find a couple of dollars" He did better than that! My mom called and said"hey girl I have some coupons that I was waiting on and I 've got them here for you. I asked what are they for. and she said For a free steak dinner! She and daddy like steak and Bilo was doing a promotion buy so many steaks and get a dinner free. We got steaks, salad, a 5 pound bag of potatoes ,garlic bread and cokes for free. I cried all the way home from the store .
Yesterday, I took my children to see a couple from a former church. This couple have become adopted great grand parents and we hadn't seen them in a while. I was driving down the road and said you know Lord I really don't have the gas to do this but we really need to go see them. Pop has been sick.Well I had lost a check for eleven dollars and I could not find it anywhere! I had looked and looked. My oldest son was sitting beside me doing his homework and raised up the notepad holder between us. Underneath it was an envelope. I thought what is this. It was my lost check! Now I know I thought I had looked every where but there it was! I just giggled to myself and said Thank you Lord. He said go see them now.and remember I'm always on time! Isn't he awesome! When God answers ,He never does anything half way. I think He just wanted me to see he still listens.
Have a great day, R

It's been amazing to watch how God has provided for us since DH lost his job last August...Not so much for me  - I'm used to things like money showing up in weird places, or bags of groceries showing up on our doorstep, etc. (My mom raised my brother and me on $13,000 a year - even in rural, small-town Minnesota, that's a small amount!), but for my DH - He has never experienced this kind of phenomenon before, and he keeps saying, "God is so cool...I can't believe this is happening..."

After our car accident in January, we found out that we'd have to pay a $500 deductible, plus rent a car for the time that ours was in the shop.  The money that people randomly slipped us in church was exactly enough to cover the rentals, and then DH's mom received her final paycheck (she retired at the end of Jan.) and it was exactly $600 more than what they needed to live.  His parents sent the extra to us with a note saying, "Do not pay this back.  It is a gift from God!"

Then a few weeks ago, we had a tithe check written out and couldn't really afford to pay it, but we brought it to church anyway.  That day, a friend paid us back some $$ that he owed us, which was the EXACT amount of the tithe check we had written...

Like I said, I'm used to "strange" things like that happening, but it's been really cool for DH to have some of these experiences, too .
