After totally giving our financial situation to the Lord I got a phone call for the job I have interviewed twice for (an office manager at an insurance agency). The agent is a Christian and knows I am a PW. I am going Monday morning to talk to him. Please pray that if this is God's provision He will give me favor and the flexibility for ministry I need. If anyone wants to advise on exactly how to word that now is the time :)
Flow would be the perfect person to speak to this and advise you. Hopefully she'll check the board soon and read this.
I would just say - be totally open up front - don't hold back. Tell them you are a great worker -- will give them the best that you've got - but that ministry is your passion in life and you need some flexibility to fulfill the call of God on your life. If this job is for you - they will understand. If not, God has something better lined up.
I'll be praying for you!!!
By the way, you should have gotten my brochure by snail mail - if not, it's coming today or Monday in your box.
Just to let you know: the interview went great and I was very honest with him about the ministry. He is basically now talking about part-time mornings and said that he is very flexible about days off- he said I would be able to work only days I wanted. WOW! In this situation I would be more in charge of customer development and would hire a seperate insurance agent full-time as office manager.
I was basically thinking this was wwhat God wanted and then the guy called Friday and told me he had decided to hire a full-time insurance agent instead of me. Can I tell the truth that even though I thought this was the answer financially I am so relieved! I soooooo prayed that God would stop this if I was not supposed to be doing this and He did. I am at peace and trusting God. By the way I was called Monday and asked to preach Wed. night at a nearby church. IT went great and I have 2 more ministry opportunities coming up.
That is so great! God is providing for you and I'm so excited that it's speaking because I know you have a passion for it and will enjoy it so much!!! There is nothing "wrong" with you taking another job if it comes to that, but let's just pray that the Lord bring in the speaking engagements very regularly so that you don't have to (if it's not his will) so that you can DO your PASSION.
