So this past week has not been fun for me. To begin, our phone was disconnected for four days because the phone company messed up. Since DH runs a business from home, that was especially bad!
We finally got that up and running, and lo and behold, last night we were hit by a bus on the way home. Neither of us was hurt; just the car - and hey, that's what we have car insurance and the Amoco Car Club for, right? Nevertheless, it was not a fun week. Plus, I've been struggling with some other stupid emotional stuff on top of that.
Here's the fun part:
First of all, I kept hearing the verse, "Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength..." over and over again. At my gym (They do have a Praise & Worship mix, but interestingly enough, they played that one song based on the verse and then switched to secular...hmm...), on the radio, on the news (GW's Bible was open to that during the inauguration)...everywhere! I finally said, "Okay, God, I get your point!"
Then today, I went back over my Children's Church lesson for tomorrow, and lo and behold, it's all about rejoicing in the Lord no matter what your circumstances. The Paul & Silas story...
Yeah, God, I think I finally really did get the poing!
tHAT IS FUNNY! gLAD YOU WERE NOT HURT.I TOO HEARD THAT VERSE OVER AND OVER AS ALL THIS STUFF WITH BECKY WAS GOING ON. BEST, LW

You are right, God has an incredible sense of humor, and I am also so glad you're okay. I don't know of many people who have ever been hit by a bus. In fact, you are the only person I know of who was hit by a bus!

Thanks! Actually, the bus just took off the driver's side rearview mirror, the left blinker, and most of our bumper - no damage done to us at all. If it had been about 1/2" closer, it would probably have taken out my husband - at least temporarily!
The sad thing is...my favorite saying at work and in my ministry has always "Ya know, someone else needs to learn how to do some of this stuff that I do, because I could get hit by a bus on my way home and then where would you be?" Maybe this will be a wake-up call, and my children's ministry will be flooded with workers, LOL!!
