figuring out my role

I am really struggling right now. I have always been an active part of our ministry fulltime with my dh and love it but since we church-planted 5 yrs ago we are in a hole that we have to climb out of financially by me having a GOOD job... in order for this to happen I need to finish school (which will take 2 yrs). This is not a problem as I have the opportunity and ability but will NOT be working side by side in our new pastorate here the way I have in the past. I have not started any major projects at church since school starts in August and I am working fulltime at a job I do not like.
On one hand I am excited about finishing school but I feel SO disconnected with our church and since we have spent 17 years connecting through our ministry I feel left out and not a part of things.. then when I say that and he gives me suggestions for things that I need to do at church I resent that since I am working fulltime and about to start school.

I think it helps to remember, this is but for a season.  Your schooling will not last forever.  And it's important to you to finish that.  This job that you dislike is not permanent, it is merely a vehicle to get you to your next goal.   I think your mantra needs to be, "this too shall pass."

I also believe this -- when you come back to more involvement in your ministry after schooling and this other job is over, your husband will probably have greater appreciation for you.

Sometimes it's good to take a short break...it lets people realize what's missing when you're not at the table.  At least that has been my experience.

Praying for you,
Deanna

Go for it!  You'll be glad that you did!  Just keep communication open with dh and be seen on the platform so that your presence is still known.  It won't be as hard to step up to the plate when the time comes again!

Thanks to you all for the encouragement.  "This too shall pass"  will become my motto.  I just need to learn how to handle where I am at the present time.  I must learn to be content, while in this state, until getting to the next level.

I also encourage Spiritledwoman, as I encourage myself, to hang in there until your change comes.  It is on the way.

Thanks, ladies, for making this subject a little brighter!
