I HOPE THAT ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN ESPECIALLY BLESSED!
I will be trying that fudge recipe as soon as I get the energy to roll out of my bed and go buy groceries... My holiday work does not end until Wednesday. I leave tomorrow for our college student retreat at Myrtle Beach... Of course it is snowing there (according to the nay-sayers) and that is a wonderful thing... It will encourage us to stay in the villa and do what we are truly there for... MINISTRY!
Be uniquely enriched... In a week it will be a NEW YEAR!
I have been greatly blessed. We had a great Christmas, and hope you did too. Of course it's wonderful just because Jesus is who He is!!! But on top of that, we had a great time as a family.
Now comes my favorite week of the year. It's time for me to just have some family time for the week, and some time to myself. Larry gives the staff the week off from all office hours except for emergencies and services. We have already had one person in the hospital and also a death in someone's extended family but even with that -- it really takes no time to speak of at all. One of the staff just stops by in each instance, and aside from a phone call or two, the Care Ministry takes care of the rest.
Larry gave off from Sunday night church tonight. We had a great morning service, just great. Then we went to lunch with my asst. Lindsay and her parents and had a wonderful time and headed to the mall to make any exchanges we needed to make and spend some money we got for Christmas. My whole time was taken helping Savanna spend...which she loved! She bought two huge bags of stuff at the Disney store, a pair of sneakers and went to get her hair cut at a nice salon. She looks great! She got a makeover. Walking down the mall she says, "MOM, IT'S SO MUCH FUN TO SPEND ALL THIS MONEY!!!" (She got it from her grandma's and grandpa's!) I must admit it was fun watching her spend it.
I am spending a quiet evening watching a movie more than likely and snuggling with the fam. I hope you all get some needed rest this week and eek every bit of joy out of the Christmas/New Year's season that you can!!! I am having a new year's party so I'm getting ready for that in a few days. Larry says we're just going to invite a few close individuals/couples for a "low maintenance" night. (ha!)
I am glad to hear that you had a blessed Christmas. I also had a very blessed Christmas weekend as well. I was able to get some rest and spend some quiet time alone with my family. That was wonderful! God is so awesome!
