I rarely if ever post things like this because to be quite honest, if you add up all the needs in all of our churches, there would be a million. But this one is really important and very prominent in my life & church.
There is a member of our church named Diane...she is a long time member and extremely faithful...a fantastic worker/servant...and nothing but 200% positive all the time!!! I cannot even express to you all the things Diane has done in loving and helping my family, the church family, and so many other people. She and her husband Tim are just precious, precious people. They are not elderly...just mid-life age. Tim is captain of a ship and is out to sea about 1/2 the year but when he's home he serves the church in more ways than most people do all year long. Diane runs our clothing bank, serves as a greeter, and basically anything else we ask her to do. All with a mega-watt smile and an attitude that every pastor would just give their right arm to have. ANYWAY...
A few months ago, Diane was diagnosed with cancer, and given no hope by the doctors. It's in her lymph nodes and basically just about every other major organ. She has had a one week blitz of chemo but the chemo alone almost killed her. She took a few week break from it and has rebounded. She is feeling better and the doctor can't find the cancer in one side of her neck (in the lymph nodes) anymore, and it has also gone away from underneath her arms. She has about 1 centimeter of the cancer left on one side of the neck. Of course we don't know what's going on inside as far as in the organs, but we are hoping beyond hope that it was knocked out as well.
The people of our church have been fasting and constantly praying for Diane's healing. Tonight at our church we have a 3-hour prayer vigil from 9-midnight for her healing. To say this lady is special to everybody is an understatement. It's one of those situations where you truly say, "Why her, God? Why her?"
I am just asking you as you read this -- please send a prayer up to the Lord for Diane. I know you don't know her, and I do not expect you to spend all your waking hours praying for her. But as this situation comes to mind...will you just lift her and Tim up in prayer? Each time you see this subject line the next few weeks on the site...would you please just remember to ask the Lord to heal Diane?
Thank you, everyone...I appreciate it so much! And, by the way...prayer truly works, as if you all didn't know! Some time ago I had shared about a young man in our church, Mickey, who was an engineer who needed a job to stay here. I had casually mentioned it in a post about "difficult things to deal with in ministry" and I shared about how it really hurts when people move away due to transfer, etc. and circumstances beyond their control when they really don't want to leave. WELL...Mickey got a job!!!!!!!!!!!!!! USF (Univ. of South FL) hired him on a temporary assignment and they love his work so much they have extended him time and again since that time, and now they are talking in Feb. they want to make it permanent because they just don't want to lose him. I'm so excited!!! He and his wife have just been such a God-send to us, and now we get to keep them!!!
Alright, with that said, please pray for a BREAKTHROUGH MIRACLE for Diane!!! I am standing on His Word that she will 'LIVE AND NOT DIE, AND DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD!"
I stand in agreement with you and with her family and the word of God that teaches us about a woman full of good works and how because of the prayers of the people she was restored to the fellowship. What God has done he can and will do again for His glory!
And since He is searching for those to whom He can show himself strong, I invite Him to do it in your midst!
