"Sister, I feel God releasing me...."

Don't you just love those words?  "I feel God releasing me from...."

Well, I just got those words from our piano player.  "God has released me from playing the piano, and I think it's time for you (ME) to take over."  Now don't you think if God has released her from playing the piano & wants me to do it, He would tell me?

I teach the Adult Sunday School class.  I do Kids Church on Sunday mornings.  Please tell me how I can be in 2 places at one time?  I can't teach the children AND play the piano for the adult service.  Well, I can. But the children will have to wait for me to finish, and then I can't do all that I have planned.  It's not fair to them.

And our piano player is wonderful.  She is truly gifted.  She is so much more talented than me.  She can transpose music.  She plays by ear.  She puts in all those beautiful runs.  I have to practice, practice, practice.  I play what's written & a little by ear.  I have a hard time transposing.

Plus I have 3 children that I have to keep my eyes & ears on during service.  No problem there.

Ladies, I need your prayers.  God is truly getting ready to do a wonderful thing.  I know it.  But we are truly in need of workers, committed to doing His work.

Thanks for letting me vent.  And thanks for your prayers.

Oh you definately have my prayers!  I hate that sentence unless it is a true releasing of some type of bondage!

If I had a dime for every time I've heard that, or my 2nd favorite, "I'm just so burned out,"
I would be a very wealthy person.

Sigh...if I were Queen of the World, I'd wave my magic wand and make them all do what I want (or else disappear - those would be their only two options, LOL!!). Until then, you'll be in my prayers :o).

trying not to sing?

I'm usually trying not to leap on them and start beating them with both my fists, saying, "released?  RELEASED?  I'LL SHOW YOU RELEASED!!!!!"

But alas, I usually end up just going home, drinking a strong iced tea and calling up a friend and going, "how long has it been since you've heard the released excuse?" and listening to them commiserate with me.

I understand Trace.  I understand.  I'm praying for you.

Love you

Christians, the flock, those people who I have cried with & supported for  3 years, truly never cease to amaze me.  I told you that Sis.  Piano Player emailed me & felt "released" from the piano & stated that I needed to start playing.  Well, I played yesterday. And during the afternoon, dh & I were talking w/ a member of the congregation who was completely surprised when we told her the reason I was playing was b/c Sis. Piano Player stepped down.  This member told us that Sis. Piano Player had sent her an email stating that Sis. Piano Player was completely surprised when Pastor had announced to her that he was replacing her w/ Trace.  I was dumbfounded. I wonder how many other people believe this same lie? I truly don't get it.

But in the same token, God is starting to move in our services.  God is truly opening the hearts of the people.  We're in warfare.  And it is so sad that a woman that I've loved & respected is being used in this war. I do keep telling myself that we wrestle not against flesh & blood.....

Thanks ladies for all of your prayers. We really need them right now.

We're here for you, Trace.

I don't understand people and sometimes when this kind of thing happens I really wondering if those who do these types of things are mentally ill - or something is physically wrong...

We had a person in such a position one time that my husband had actually offered a ministry position and they turned it down.  But then after they themselves made that decision they would tell people in the church (behind our backs) they were upset because they weren't "featured enough" or "appreciated" when in truth they had been offered the position before he gave it to someone else by default.

It amazes me how church people can say these things in such cases unless they are mentally unstable, or physically ill, or just plain evil.

We wrestle not against flesh and blood.............
