Its me standing in the need of prayer

It's me, it's me, it's me oh Lord standing in the need of prayer
It's me, it's me, it's me oh Lord standing in the need of prayer

so the song goes...my knee surgery is coming rather quickly, Jan 21.  We are still believing for a miracle but I could really use some prayer now as well.  I am getting more nervous as the days pass.  Not really of the surgery but the recovery time and rehab.  I have been getting my home and my family ready for the big day and the weeks that will follow as well as our church.cry
I am discouraged as well, I alone do children's church (which I gladly do smile) and have ask for people to step up and help.  I have one person who is willing to cover for one or two weeks but that is it.  I am looking at 6-8 weeks or more that I will not be able to do children's church at all.  What they do not understand is that if there is no children's church then my children will be coming home to me in the parsonage after Sunday school and the other bus kids will have to be taken home because NO ONE wants the responsibilty of making them mind in the adult service. blankstare I will not be able to even attend service for 6 weeks or more and since my husband is the pastor there is no way he can attend to them in service and lead worship and preach!  weirdface
Sometimes I just want to throw in the towel and scream at these people. furious They just don't seem to get it!  We are losing a generation of kids because they don't want to get off the pew for 45 mins a week and do something about it!  ugh!  Don't people understand that without the kids churches die?  These people should know this!  It was dying before God sent us here!
Sorry to rant just frustrated with people and the whole surgery thing.  My parents are having to come from Florida to come help us because no one will help us when I have the surgery!  Thankfully Sean has enough sick time and vacation time saved from his second job so that the 2 and 3rd week he can be home with me and the 4 kids all under 7!
Sometimes I want God to move us but I realize that no where is ministry any easier!  But I sure wish He would step in and start shaking these people to wake them from their religious coma!

Please just pray for encouragement, healing and wisdom.  I am anxious and the stress of ministry is not helping me or my husband.  I do want to thank God for all He has given me in my man!  biggrinWe will celebrate 11 years of marriage on Friday!  YEA!  I am so looking forward to the next 11!  He is a wonderful caring husband, father, friend and lover.  God knew who and what I needed and blessed me with Sean!  For me he is perfect!  biggrinThank you God for 11 years of commitment to each other and to our marriage.  There sure are a lot out there that don't understand that marriage is a covenant between each other and You Lord!

  Thanks ladies!

Melissa,

You are in my prayers! Know that none of this surprises God! Take it one day at a time and let yourself rest in Him, knowing He has the future in His hands. As for people helping in kids church, it has always been that way since I have been around in ministry. The older generation of my grandparents knew the dedication it took to invent in children. I will be praying that God will send the people you need in the next few weeks.

Be blessed!

~~Autumn

The children's pastor is frustrated right along with you!! If I had a dime for every time someone quit helping out with any area of children's ministry because they were "burned out," I would have enough $$ to quit my job, skip the country, and spend the rest of my life lying on a beach in Tahiti (As of 10:00 this morning, it's only 11 degrees outside here in northern IL, so I've got warm, tropical places on the brain!).

You're in my prayers...

I don't blame you! It is 28 degress here in Oklahoma, and it is supposed to be in the high 60's later this weekend. Uh huh, right.

Melissa:  You're in my prayers.  And by the way, I'm in Florida (panhandle) & it's been in the low 20's here with wind chills in the teens.  I'm ready to go somewhere warmer!
