I'm interested to know what you thought of Victoria Osteens interview today on ABCs Good Morning America.
As I listened to it, I was torn in two directions.First, it seemed to me like some of the questions were baiting, but on the other hand came some interesting answers. Her response to a question about her role said that she was a mother first.I've always assumed a married with children pastor's wife to be married first, children second, married to the church third.(I'm automatically assuming Christ first here.Church in the sense of the position.)
ABC, however, has put a rather unflattering picture of Victoria on the page with the story.I heard that they interviewed Pastor Joel Osteen yesterday but I have not seen that interview, nor read the transcript.
Just wondering what you ladies thought / think about this subject.
I didn't think there was anything wrong with the story, really...it's fine, but I do agree with you - God's priorities for us are: WIFE, mother, minister. We are a wife before we are a mother - the call to helpmate was proclaimed in scripture before the call to motherhood ever came. God's design is that we be wives before we are mothers. This is one of the biggest problems in the world and in the church today...people put their children before their marriage. Just yesterday I had a lady in the church tell me they can't come on a couples activity because they will be doing family things. What more "family" oriented can you get than STRENTHENING YOUR MARRIAGE.
The church is filled with child centered homes, versus God/marriage centered homes...and therein lies many of our problems today.
If your marriage isn't strong and prioritized, the children really suffer.
