Well, ladies - prayers would definitely be appreciated!
My DH is currently between jobs. Two weeks ago, he was told at the bank he worked at that he was just not "fitting their image," and advised to start looking for another job. He was not out-and-out fired - but based on their actions and the climate of the place, he was pretty sure that they were going to let him go.
So he decided to give his notice because it looks better to future employers to be able to say that he left to pursue other opportunities, rather than explain why he was let go. So...as is the case at many banks (because of security reasons!), they accepted his notice, agreed to pay him through his last day, but told him that he did not need to come in anymore. We have roughly a month's worth of $$ coming to us, as well as one month left of health insurance unless he gets another job with benefits real soon. He does have some leads, which is a good thing...
Last week, the brakes went out on our car, and that was another $500.00. Our car, although it was a gift from his parents, is considered a "luxury" car (I almost laughed out loud when they told us that!!), and the parts are more expensive. No vacation for us - at least not the one we had planned (I know this sounds really whiny and it could have been much worse - but we haven't had a real vacation in about four years, and were really looking forward to this one!!).
Our best friends heard back from the last church they were waiting on, and it was also their latest "nada." Which means they won't be ministering 15 minutes from us. That was a bummer on top of everything else. They're still making decisions about what they're going to do - kind of in the same boat we were in at this time last year!
I've honestly been in a funk, because I feel like my prayers are just not being answered. Theologically, I know that's not true. But prayers all around would definitely be appreciated - for all of the situations listed above!!
