I didn't know what an Armor Bearer was until about five years ago. I think it is one of the greatest gifts one could give their Pastor. It's by far, one of the greatest gifts this SPW has ever received during our tenure here.
I recall two thin-line books on the subject. I believe they were written by an AG Associate Pastor named Terry Nance and were called :Armor Bearer: How to serve God's Leaders. These are helpful little books.
SP's are put in a an uncomfortable position in mentoring their support staff or staff pastors on how to serve them best. We have found these books most helpful by giving them to them to read. For those really serious about this, the college my dh got his Master's at has a tape series regarding being an Armor. Dh gives it to the staff pastors to help them better understand their role.
I'm going to purchase these for my armor bearer. She and her hubby just became foster parents so she hasn't really been able to minister and be there for me.
And to be honest, I've never had one and am not real sure on how to school/instruct someone on how to serve in this capacity.
