Okay, I have a brand new problem and I don't know how to handle it. Actually, it is the Pastor's problem, but see if any of you have ever had this happen.
We're a small church...really small. One of the lovely women came to my home recently. (I'll call her Mary) When I answered the door, Mary asked if I had a TV on in the house. When I said, no, we don't even have a TV, so she came in. She said, TVs "bothered her." Okay.
Today, after church, I asked the worship leader to show me how to use to ancient copy machine. She asked where Mary was because she was allergic to the copier. She was at the other end of the church helping to clean up after the potluck, so we used the copier.
THEN, when we got home DH said he was helping in the kitchen and was told Mary couldn't be in the kitchen when the microwave was operating.
Mary is 70 +/-, in excellent health (her words), and very active. What kind of allergy comes from copy machines, TVs and microwaves or what affect might those electronic devices have on a healthy body.
No, I have never heard of this but that obviously doesn't mean it exists. Why don't you check with a doctor in the area and inquire about it? I'd ask my own doc for you (she attends my church) but she's out of town for a while.........
I have been diagnosed with extreme allergies. My doc said that aside from a plastic bubble, he doesn't know what to do with me! Mine , however , are not life threatening. However, there wasn't even a test mentioned for the type of things that you are speaking of.
Attention getting? Oh my! That's what DH thought, but this is one of those stable, Holy Ghost believing women who strikes me as "pillar of the church" type people. But I went online last night searching for something about this kind of allergy and found warnings about standing directly in front of a microwave, avoiding too much Tv as problems with eyes, etc. but nothing about allergies.
However, "Two as One" mentioned tests for this type of allergy, so it must exist.
I have to do more pondering and praying about this one.
