As you know, we're preparing to move into our own building and part of the process is setting up an account with an electricity provider.
I found out that on our bldg, there is a thing called a DEMAND METER which if I didn't already have would have put the fear of God in me.
Everybody in our church knows...even the children...turn things on 15 minute intervals. Do not come in the church and turn everything on at once! Ok, so we know to be very careful with this because abusing this DEMAND METER makes for VERY HIGH electricity bills.
Does anybody else have one of these?
Anyway, since we're so new and don't have established credit yet...one electricity provider was requiring an $1100 deposit which we were prepared to pay...but that still didn't make coughing up that amount of cash any easier! This is the South and it gets hot and humid so AC is not even an option but necessisty!
I kept searching...thank goodness for deregulation and found another company that's able to forfeit the deposit altogether as long as we have payments automatically deducted or at the most, the deposit will only be $300. We get to pick our bill date which is a huge blessing. Heaven forbid the rent and the electric bill were due at the same time! Pray saints...PRAY! LOL!
So we can now take that $1100 and put it towards yep you guessed it CHAIRS! Woohoo! I think hubby will have to wait on that Leslie speaker.
