I have such a headache from trying to start this school. I really, really want to start a church school, but I need the support or the help of others in my church. This one lady is very anointed with children, and running a daycare in her home. The only thing is that we are having a huge conflict. The problem is that there are 2 visions, which = di-vision. My husband & I have had a vision to start an Academy some years ago, however, she has her own vision and refuses to stray from her God given vision. She does not want her school to be a part of our ministry but, she wants the church to write a resolution to "cover" her to teach Home School/Church school legally in her home. (She is currently homeschooling some kids illegally). To me, if she wants no part of the ministry, why should we offer an "umbrella" for her school. My husband is not sure about doing this anyway. I had a pretty heated discussion with her today that left me soooooo frustrated.
I told my husband that I really have no one to support me starting church school outside of her from my church. So, he told me that maybe it is not time to start the school then. He advised me to go ahead and set up the system, and pray that God would send competent, passionate people with a heart to serve the children.
First, I would agree that you should not cover this other woman w/ the church's "umbrella." No way, no how. I personally have a very difficult time w/ anyone who will do something illegally. If you already know that she is doing wrong, there is no telling what other "wrongs" she may do that could seriously hurt the church. Plus, if it were me, I wouldn't want someone "on my side" who is willing to break the rules. If she's doing it now, she'll do it w/ you.
I also know that you & dh have a vision for an academy, but this is something that you can't do on your own. Perhaps the time just is not right. Tommy Barnett, A/G minister extraordinaire, had a vision for a dream center in L.A. California to minister to all sorts of people. He had this vision for years (20 plus years) before he saw his vision come to fruition, through his son I might add. He knew this vision was God-given & he held on to this vision. I'm sure in his flesh, he would have liked for it to happen right away, but that wasn't God's plan.
I'm not saying this to discourage you, but to encourage you. Keep the vision, pray, pray, pray, & educate yourself. Then allow God to do His work. He may have to change hearts. He may have to change church leadership. But He will see you through.
You have to do things RIGHT. Don't birth anything quickly. One of my ladies recently wanted to do something quickly that I knew had potential to be disaster if we just shot off and launched it prematurely. The bigger the endeavor the more you have to take time to make sure you do it right. Don't rush it.
And don't let this woman pressure you! I don't get good vibes about her at all...
