Today we were notified of a ministry opportunity that is in another town just 30 mins away. We know whre the church is and have been by it many times this summer as we have traveled to my parents summer home (20 mins away from the church).
The location is perfect for our family, we know that this would be a bivocational pastorate and that is something we are very familiar with. My dh could keep his job/ministry he has working with troubled teens and I could keep my caretaking position as well. There are many pluses to this opportunity and we feel very positive about inquiring and moving forward.
As we prepare to contact the church board please pray with us that if this be God's will that He open all doors and smooth out the wrinkles. We are trusting Him!
So many twists and turns. Tonight my husband was contacted by another church that we had inquired about back in Aug. He will be answering a questionaire that gets extremely personal specially about finances. We have nothing to hide and will be truthful but in our current state financially due to leaving our previous pastorate, moving to a different state and then the lack of jobs for months if they (or any other church committee) base anything on that well ... it just is a little over whelming. Please pray for peace and direction and His favor upon us if this opportunity opens to us. Thanks!
Well we have done our part in this long process. Now begins the waiting game. We are praying he will advance to the next step, which will be an interview. Thank you all for your prayers.
You will love this! We now have a church in Kansas that has requested more info from us as well as one in IL that told us they will be meeting Wed night to discuss his resume and decide what they will do next. My mind is spinning. It seems as if in one week things have gone wild. Please pray for us to have focus through this and that we make the right decisions about what to do. If you have any suggestions or advice I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks ladies! Love you!
The difference of a a few hours makes things a wild adventure! This morning we had 3 churches interested, as of now, early evening, we have had one door close and another open. At one point I wrote some friends asking for prayer about 4 churches and we are back to 3. But now I come to you and ask that you pray with us again and cover us in prayer tomorrow and Friday. The church that contacted us around noon today is the church I speak of in the first comment of this thread. We had NO IDEA they were interested till today. Their committee has met and they want an interview with Sean as soon as possible. We will find out later tonight or early tomorrow morning when that will be, either Thursday or Friday evening of this week. Yes it is fast and we felt that it would all happen fast once it started. We just want to be where God can use us, be in His perfect timing and place, and it be a place that we can call home and be able to set down roots. Thank you all for your prayers!
Lots to think about and pray about. Meeting went well. They are definitely interested but due to an experience we have had before concerning a church and how they voted (or not voted and lead us on) we are concerned about a few things. Please pray we have clarity. I would share details but it's a long story. PD knows the situation I speak of from last year. Other wise, it sounds like a great place. Just have to have clarity and a clear direction. WE do not want anything we do to be motivated by fear but everything on faith.
