It finally happened! We got a raise!! WOOOHOO!! "The" meeting that has been put off for a few weeks now finally happened. The church gave us a raise. The committee said that they did not want to lock this down for a year, but they want to look at it again in 6 months. "As the church grows & is blessed, we want to be able to bless our pastor." Isn't that awesome. Plus, they agreed to give us some money to go towards a one year anniversary vacation. There are a couple of other churches that are going to help out with this as well. So I booked us in a nice Orlando resort for the week of Sept 9. We're hoping to be able to have enough to go to one or two days at Disney. Just think, we are actually going to get a break..... dh & I have NEVER had a real vacation. This is so exciting....
Our CA did not show for the meeting last night. We got word today that his son is leaving the church. (His daughter left about 3 weeks ago.) Hopefully, he will be soon. He's just continuing behind our backs. I try to talk to him, & he refuses to talk to me. He MAY nod & that's it. He & his wife have missed A LOT of church. His wife did tell a lady in our church that they had "been looking" at other churches. I do like his wife a lot. She has a lot to offer, but the negativity is still there. God knows what is going on.....
But for now, I'm going to just rejoice ... I see a bit of rest & relaxation heading my way!!
I'm so happy things worked out for you, and that your church sees the value of taking care of their pastor. Our SP just got back from a vacation at Disneyworld, courtesy of a lady in our church who donated the use of her timeshare to him and his family. Have fun on your vacation!!
Okay, I know you want to say it...on the count of three (to your CA)..."Don't let the door hit you on the way out!!" Things with my own personal CA have taken an ugly turn, but I think they are about to get better. It's like death throes, and boy, are they nasty!! But our SP is planning to meet with our presbyter for advice on procedures - so it may be "Sayonara, suckers!" very soon.
Keep us in your prayers, though - it's not over until the door hits the very last of them (there are two couples left that NEED to go!), and we still need TONS of coverage.
