Wow! What a week we have had! It's been one of the longest weeks of my life, and one of the most rewarding.
Last night we finished up w/ VBS. (We still have commencement tomorrow night.) I know that in churches, we tend to get caught up in the numbers game. But I must say, I am so excited!!! We've had over 50 kids & youth at VBS. For the size of our church, that is amazing! Most importantly, at least 12 of them gave their hearts to the Lord! How Awesome!! And most of them are planning to be picked up in the morning for Sunday School.
I'm not sure if I shared w/ you ladies, but dh & I were at a sectional ministers meeting in April. Dh was asked to share w/ the ministers his vision for our community, as many of the churches & ministers are supporting us (similar to home missionaries.) That night, dh shared his vision to have a church van to bring kids to church & help win our community. That very night, we had a pastor donate to us a church van & their church was even going to have our church name put on it. A couple of weeks later, dh called this pastor. He said they were not going to donate a van, instead they were going to donate TWO! You could not imagine our excitement & fear -- for we knew God had a plan for 2 vans. Our first van came in the middle of May. We were not sure when our second van would get here.
At the beginning of this week, we were running our first van. Tuesday night, we had a barage of kids & youth. Most of them needed a ride on the van. That same Tuesday night, we had a surprise delivery of the second van. Yes, Wednesday night, BOTH vans were full of kids! God gave us what we needed exactly when we needed it. We also gained 2 families about 3 weeks ago -- these two families have been a Godsend, working every night in VBS & bringing in kids!
Please continue to pray for us. Satan is trying his best to get to us from every angle, but we know that he is defeated. God & His Word are going forth in our community. Tracy
12 kids...there are 12 more people going to heaven...and who knows how many more will be touched by those kids?!!?!?
Your van story is encouraging! I, too, am in need of a van to transport kids to and from church, to events, etc...You are living proof that God WILL make it happen for me!!
