Need desperate prayer for direction

OK... anybody here ever doubted or questioned their call?  I'm in a serious spiritual battle over where I am supposed to be, and what I am supposed to be doing.  Being single, I'm overwhelmed (not to mention flat broke).  The church we've spent two years trying to start currently consists of 4 single women, one of whom is me.  This is not "church", and the other women do nothing but show up.

I have taken a part-time secretary job at another church in town, and have done really well so far.  I get along with the pastor, and they pay me great per hour... but it's only 20 hours per week and I can't live on that.  So I have to find something else part-time to supplement.  I can't work two jobs, plus keep up Hope Chapel all by myself (and keep up my house, etc.).

If I "quit", these women likely won't go to church anywhere else.  But if I don't feel that God wants me there any more (and I really don't), how can I keep going?   I truly feel that my call is more toward womens' ministry, the web ministry, and writing.  Also, I enjoy a more personal one-on-one ministry as well.  But I am drowning financially, and don't know what to do.

I don't want to let these ladies down, but I just can't do it anymore!!

Through tears and prayers...
Robin

Sister Robin

I think you already know the answer to your questions. You truely have to follow what you feel is God's will for your life right now. Sometimes we have to let go of things and trust that God has a plan that will either bring it back full circle at a better time or He will guide you to a better place. I can only say I will be praying for you.

Big Doors swing on small hinges.
Don't let the expectations of others define who you are, and the calling that God has given to you. At the end, Father will ask if you were faithful and obedient with what He gave you (me too). That is what I try to think about with each choice that I make. If you step down from the church, it does not mean that you are quitting, it just means that you are stepping into something else. You don't have to stop meeting with the ladies, why not do women's ministry with them and not call it church? God is faithful.

I will be praying for you. I understand it is very hard right now to stay afloat financially, emotionally, and even physically. God did not create us to be worn out and stressed all the time. His desire is for us to excel in the giftings He gave us. The journey toward releasing those giftings is hard, but worth it in the end. Keep on keeping on my "sista" (Pastor Tara's word).

*smiles*

Let God be your confidence and the lifter of your head.

Thanks so much for your encouragement and prayers. We've "closed" the church, but the women are interested in doing a bible study at my home once a week. Oddly enough, another neighbor is interested in that (who would NEVER come to chuch). I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future!
Thanks again. Praying for all of you!

Sister Robin,

I am sooooooooooo happy for you. A lot of the time, we just need to step forward and let God handle the rest. It is funny how it works out huh? Thank you for your encouragement too! You are a wonderful woman of God.

Be Blessed!
