Do any of you ever get tired of Facebook? I dont know if its just me and all the stress we have been thru lately, but I have come close to just deleting my account and freeing up that time. It seems like alot of people in our church are getting on there and using the comments and status thing to throw jabs and just basically an undercurrent of sorts. I always feel this need to have something either funny or spiritual on mine and so the other day I just set it to my name. No status. felt freeing but still.....I am tired of people asking me if I am ignoring them on Facebook since I dont do any of the other applications (except flair. I love flair) but truth is, it eats alot of time. And I am sure Deanna can attest, i love blogging. I would never want to give that up. But somedays, Facebook is a drain and becoming more so everyday with all the church people on there. Am i alone?
Yes I do get tired of it, but unlike you I have teenagers right now and so for that reason alone I keep my account...to be able to stay attuned to what they are doing on there.
I don't do any of the applications either -- except flair. I have started marking "ignore" to all of them. Too time consuming. I change my profile every once in a while (VERY infrequently) and have my blog automatically post to my facebook (I never have to purposely go on there and post or anything) and I really don't put lot of time into mine, just keep the account mostly to keep up with the kids.
Yes, I do find some people will use it for "jabs" and so forth. I refuse to get involved and ignore it - and if I do happen to unfortunately see something that's a "jab" I completely ignore it and don't let anyone know I saw it.
I just started facebook, and i have apps..but I have been deleting some of them. I did not like myspace and I found that facebook is somewhat cleaner. Anyway.,I just try to keep up with people from college...that is about it.
When you get requests to join applications, you can mark, "Ignore all this user's requests." It's considerably cut down on my facebook spam.
I am shocked by the number of people over the age of 50 that are on Facebook from my church. Our music pastor, his wife, and his 65 year old mother are all on.
Hey - George Wood (superintendent of the A/G!) is on Facebook. It's a great way to keep in touch with people, lol!
I prefer Myspace myself (less stuff on there..Facebook has quizzes, flair, book club, etc...to distract me!), but yes, we have experienced some DRAMA around here among adults who send messages to peopleand don't get replies fast enough for their liking.
Hello?!?!? Only geeks like me check our e-mail constantly throughout the day! Even so - if I don't immediately comment you back, it does NOT mean that I'm mad at you or offended by something you said or did.
Seriously - I am starting to realize that some people never fully (mentally!) graduate from junior high...
