We have a little girl in our church who is 10 yrs old. Mentally she is more like a 6/7 yr old. She has brain damage due to a tramatic birth and is VERY VERY innocent! This week her next door neighbor took advantage of that and raped her. She is so innocent that she told everyone in SS and in CC. The law is involved at this time. PLEASE keep her in prayer this week and the coming weeks. She has to go through some physcial exames that no 10 yr old should have to go through. Her mother died in a tragic car accident when she was 3 and she lives with her dad and granma. Her granma comes to our church and brings her every week. She is a mess and is blaming herself. I know how to minister to both. I have gone through the same experience. Of which God has healed me of and I know He can do the same for her. Please pray we will be able to minister to this family and help them through what is going to be a very tough situation.

Oh Melissa! I'll definitely be praying and covering this little girl and her family! Thank God you have wisdom and understanding to help them through this time.
I will be praying for this..I understand this situation as well...
I will pray that:
1. Healing will come to the family. 2. Grandma will forgive herself and let go for her disappointment. 3. Safety around the family. 4. Total healing and restoration for the little girl.
Just an update on what has happened. The physical exames have proven that something has happened. As the story has unfolded in the last few days apparently the person responsible for the abuse is a 16 yr old boy who apparently has been takening advantage of this little girl for a few months and it esculated to this last event. She has told her family and the police everything that has happened. They have a very long process in front of them. The boy has been released into his fathers protection. The family has come to us for prayer and support. I have had the opportunity to share my story with the grandma and believe it has and will help the communication between them and us. She and her son are really having a hard time with this situation. The little girl is doing well. Is talking alot more and seems to be dealing with things well from what I have been told. Her grandma says she believes its because of her disability. She didnt realize that it was wrong or bad, just that he hurt her. It's really heart breaking. Please continue to pray. Thanks every one!
