Going to new church

Hi, Ladies:
Just thought that I'd update you all. Dh was voted in to a new church on Sunday night.  The church is about 30 minutes from where we currently live, 50 minutes from our current church.  It's actually a church that my father pastored when I was 12.  We know that we are facing some challenges - a very traditional church with several older people, but a younger generation who knows that change must happen for the church to continue on.  It's not a big church - more members than our current church.  We'll be living in a parsonage.

The other challenge for me is going to be finding my place in the church.  This is a church where people seem to actually volunteer to do things. I was a little concerned that people were going to see me as "little Tracy" but I'm not as concerned.  (Actually, my daughter who looks just like me is now "little Tracy.)

Our last week at our current church is Sunday.  It's going to be sad.  And then we start the following Sunday at the new church.  We'll be moving in 10 days.  Not exactly sure how that's going to happen, but school will be starting soon.

Thanks for all of your prayers.
Love you all,
Trace

Fantastic Trace! We'll agree with you that you will find your place and be a leader to those you will be shepherding... not "little Tracy!"

Love-
Tara

That is wonderful Trace! I am praying for you. Know that it is not what you do that defines who you are, you are who you are in Christ. If you love to teach, go for it (with support from DH of course!)! God has the right area for you to lead in. Ditto to Pastor Tara!

That's fantastic!  In our church everyone volunteers to do things such as plan fellowship dinners, clean up, clean the church, decorate during the holidays, make meals for those that are ill,  ect...  they just wouldn't volunteer for children's church until I had surgery in Jan and was unable to do anything.  Now I have 3 ladies that will step in and help when needed.
You will find your place, maybe it will be organizing the volunteers.  God will show you!  Have fun packing and embrace your new church with God's love!
