I haven't talked to you all much about this, but LW's post about Becky brought to mind an amazing praise report to share...
My younger brother has been in a lot of trouble in his life - from the time he was 14 until he was 21, we honestly didn't know if he was going to make it. Drugs, crime, gangs (well, as much of a "gang" as you can have in rural northern MN, but scary nevertheless!) - you name it, he was into it. He spent more time incarcerated and on probation than he did off. Well...he finally decided he was sick of that lifestyle, got a job, moved here to Mpls, went to school, and got married. He still isn't 100% serving Jesus - but he and his wife are so close, it's not even funny!
Anyway, after he graduated in October, he started looking for work, went on lots of interviews, but ultimately wasn't hired. He was convinced that it was because he had a felony on his record, and was even starting to apply for jobs at pizza places because he figured that was all he'd ever get. So my mom told him that we would all be praying for him that God's favor would be on him, and he sent out 11 resumes to a bunch of different animal hospitals (he's a veterinary technician). Lo and behold - he got hired by one of them (the best one that he interviewed at!) last week. He was very up front and told them about his felony, and they still gave him the job. I am really happy, because he knows that we were praying for him, and he knows that God did this for him.
It is very encouraging to hear your praise report regarding your brother. My dad just told me yesterday about my brother getting in trouble again. He is 23 and has been arrested several times for minor offences, but this he was just arrested this weekend for his 3rd DUI. I am not sure what the law is in OH, but in SC, the 3rd offense can have serious consequences. Even more than the punishment of the court, I am concerned that he will hurt, if not kill himself or someone else if he does not stop this behaviour.
I truly believe that my brother has the potential to bring a lot of young people to Christ. He has always been a natural leader and has wrestled with loving God and loving the world too. This truly hurts my dad, who is a pastor. My brother is scheduled to go to court tomorrow at 2:30 pm. I pray that God will use this experience as a turning point for him. I pray that he will see that his actions are leading him down a path of destruction and choose to turn to the Lord. I know that he knows what is right.
Please pray for my brother as well as my parents and our family. We desire so much for him to give his life over to Christ completely. I know that God can do it! Thanks puppetmaster for sharing your praise report!
Will do, Lady T. We all have a situation such as this in our lives. Many people don't talk about it - but I believe we all have circumstances in our lives like this with loved ones and it breaks our heart. I understand all to well how you feel and what you are going through. I will be in prayer for your brother.

LadyT - My brother has had many words spoken over him since he was a baby about how he is going to be a leader in the kingdom of God...I think Satan tries even harder with the people that he knows are going to be powerful for Jesus!
My mom used to say to people when they'd ask how he was, "He's building his testimony right now." All her friends with young boys who are getting in trouble have now borrowed that phrase from her when talking about their kids...
