HALLELUJAH!

Hello ladies!!!  God is doing such a special thing in my life since I last posted...  (Thanks ladies for the prayerful support!)

At any rate as I mentioned before there are some serious enemies attacking the teens at my church and God placed my husband and I there to be GIANT KILLERS!  Well I am preparing for our college student retreat to Myrtle Beach over the Christmas break and in a word, it is absolutely awesome in the making.  We are using Bruce Wilkerson's Secrets of the Vine...  In just the preview session alone the questions that came forth have been enough to make me shout and dance all over Rock Hill!

The Bible teaches us that our whole goal in teaching and doing the ministry that we do is "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power..."  Ephesians 1:17-19

Now in the midst of all of this I had a teen call me in a crisis on Monday...  I felt strongly that she was experiencing suicidal thoughts so I made her promise to give me until 6:00 p.m. to get to her so that we could talk and work some things out...  She said she would meet me at my house and she would be okay because she knew that I would listen to her problems and because we had prayed together...   Well in between the time we hung up the phone and the time she made it to the house I read Bill Gothard's book The Power of Crying Out...  In a word - supercalifragilisticexpialidocius!

That book was the exactly what I needed to prepare for what God knew I was going to hear...  And just as I thought I was going to put that in my library I found myself dedicating the book to her...  And she has come back to my house twice since to tell me how she can not imagine how I could have known how much that book has meant to her and how now that she has read it she feels comfortable crying out to God...  How she has found a place where she can just wail before the Lord and she has already felt Him making a difference for her!

I feel that this next season of ministry for me is going to be filled with what I have longed to do for God.  More teaching, more direct ministry.   Strangely enough this feeling of release comes as I close out my time with my music ministry.  But one of the things that I just re-read in Secrets of the Vine is there is a difference between getting disciplined and getting pruned.  Pruning means that you are doing a good job, but that your potential is great for more and if I remove some of the things that have you tied down, you will flourish.  And realistically doing all of the various rehearsals I was doing before was having its impact on my body and mind.  God has cleared the way for me to shine in my TRUE calling.

As they say in the song - You can tell the Devil I'm back!

You're baaaackkk!!!  I'm so thrilled about all that's happening with you.  Praise God.  It seems God is making all things clear as to why the music transition was happening with you.  It's so exciting  to see where the Lord is leading you.  Keep us posted on what happens!

Go girl!

Love ya,

Deanna
