We're not all a bunch of disrespectful, snot-nosed punk kids who care nothing about our senior pastors .
To read more about my feelings on this and to read a little bit of my testimony of the church situation God brought me out of (next week will mark the 2-year anniversary of my interview with my current senior pastors!!), read my latest blog:
Amen! You are a good writer and seem like a great staffer.
I will say this: we entered into the ministry radically saved from non-Christian backgrounds but too NAIVE! We never thought someone would dislike the head pastors or usurp authority LOL Unfortunately, for us, as staff pastors we served under SP's deeply wounded (apparently) from disloyalty and disrespect (from controlling parishioners or staff pastors). We were so mistreated by both the Sp's (some seemed intentional) . It was such a disappointment and let down. Nevertheless, we stayed in ministry and eventually became SP's when we were ready.
Our first 8 years as SP's we had good staffers but the last few years have been ones who seem to want the same privileges as we SP's, come out of Bible school wanting EVERYTHING, and they do seem disrespectful of us at times(like they are eguals). Now we are finally at the age when there's a generation gap and we are shocked how many won't sacrifice even having material things (we were nothing like that, worked for peanuts, and never had much or went into debt) but for us, it was all about the call...obedience...not out for our own interests.
You are exceptional staffer and a gem. Perhaps the Lord will use you to train others!
