Prayer for South Africa

I know that we are not in a war like the rest of africa, however with the power cuts that they are using in south africa we are sitting in the dark with between 2-8hrs of no electricity. The area we stay in has a high level in violent crime, with the Minister of Police been asked to step down as he has been taking money to turn his eyes from crime groups we are really faced with lots of crime, when there is no power at night our alarms dont work and so they have free pickings, at the moment my dh is not in town and is having to work away during the week and coming home on weekends, I can see the change in my children and even the fear... girls I need wisdom here and the Peace of God like never before...I am at my wits end.cry

Heavenly Father, I thank you for giving my sister fresh and creative ways to keep her family safe.  NO WEAPON, word curse, scheme or plan , against them shall proper.  I cover them in the blood of Jesus and harm shall pass over. I thank you for sending angels to guide and protect this family.  It is in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that I pray.  AMEN

Had not we had special guests to speak at church this morning, I wouldn't be able to understand your prayer request.  I do now, and believe me my husband and I will be praying for you.

The man who spoke this morning has only recently returned from South Africa where he and his wife were missionaries.  He mentioned the high walks around homes and electric "fences" at the top of the walls. He talked of the high crime in Johhanesburg.

Then he told how their home was broken into. His wife and 14 year old daughter were there and he felt helpless. His wife talked about her jewelry and (buying time) showed the thiefts where it was kept.  The daughter was being dragged away, but his wife played on the emotions of the robbers and convinced them not to hurt her baby.  Twice guns were ****ed at the missionaries head, but finally the thiefs tied the missionary, his wife and daughter together with neckties from the missionaries closet.

They sat on the bed and began to sing. They sang in the Zulu language (the language of the robbers) and they prayed in the Spirit. Their daughter became a Christian that day as she felt the presence of God in the room as her parents prayed and sang and robbers turned their house upside down.  In the end the robbers left with everything they owned that was of any value and drove their car away.

But their lives were spared.

We don't have a magic formula for scare off bad guys who are bent on robbing and raping, but we certainly have the Holy Spirit to comfort us when we face horrifying fears and deep terrors.

Praying for you today.

Dell

Thanks for sharing this Revdell, what an experience!  Prayer/praise changes things. A lady in my church whom lives in a high crime area was walking outside her apartment with her teen son when robbers with masks approached them with guns.  They made them lay down as the teen watched them threaten and hold a gun to his mother's head.  The Mom said that a peace came over her.  She began singing in tongues and english singing:  No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Suddenly she started laughing and singing.  The robbers stopped what  they had intended to do and ran away!  It
was truely an amazing story of deliverance.  Plus, the Mom was laying down where she could look into her child's eyes and speak peace to calm his fears.
Deborah, know that we will pray every time you ask or the Holy Spirit brings this to remembrance! At Bible college, I never have forgotten Kenyan from Kenya and his radical salvation out of a family of witch doctors.  He said don't go over there unless you are the authentic, genuine Christian.  They don't play games with phonies!  You're the real thing!  The Lord bless you and keep you.
