My best friend is currently, as we speak, in labor with her first child. I just got an e-mail from her sister - she's been stuck at 2 cm since yesterday, and her doctor is not intervening to move it along at this point. She's very tired and in a whole lot of pain (and she's got a bad back on top of everything else!), so we're praying and believing that things will progress and move along quickly, and that her little boy will hurry up and be born - and that both mom and baby will stay safe and healthy!!
Thanks for your prayers...after four days of being stuck at 2 cm and just random painful contractions that they couldn't time, but were still "real" (i.e. not Braxton Hicks!!), her husband called us to let us know that her water broke at around 11:30 last night. So things are going to progress much faster from this point forward!!
As of 4:07 pm yesterday, I am a proud surrogate auntie :o). Isaac was born weighing 8 lbs, 7 oz, and 21 inches long...his mommy is very exhausted, but doing well. He is doing well for the most part, but continued prayers are appreciated - he did have to spend the night in an oxygen tent last night because of some breathing issues. They said that it wasn't serious...but asked us to pray, anyway!!! I wasn't even there, and I'm absolutely exhausted from this whole week...thanks for your prayers!!!!!
