Thank you Lady Sutton for the gentle reminder! Recently, I did a workbook study by Mary Kassian called Conversation Peace and Dr. Michael Sedler's books: Stop Runaway Conversations and When to speak up & when to shut up. Good stuff! I recommend it to every church leader to have these in their "pantry" of foods for sheep (and shepherds!). Plus, keep it as a staple. We can never be reminded too much when it comes to our tongues! The scripture in Matthew is most exhorting!! I just did John Bevere's Driven by Eternity book. And during a family fast (entertainment) we listened to 'Affabel' on CD. It really makes you think about your actions and words especially in light of God's judgement! If anyone thinks they are religious but bridle not their tongue...he is deceived and his religion is worthless. Lord help us to glorify you privately and publicly. Amen.
This is so good. We know it, of course, but having the verses right in our face brings us face-to-face with reality. It's soooo easy to just add to someone someone says and get pulled in to gossip (don't you hate that word?) or wasted words. Thanks for the reminder.
